It stands at approximately 3\,370m asl. above sea level and is famously as the ‘Lone Ranger’. This is an ideal hike for anyone training for Mount Kenya\, or looking to ease into high-altitude hiking as their first peak. Chebuswa is a beginner-friendly mountain\, making it ideal for hikers who want to experience the Aberdares without taking on an overly technical or exhausting climb. It’s also less explored\, which makes it an exciting opportunity to discover a quieter trail and tick off a long-standing bucket-list hike. Our hike starts before Twin Rocks\, on the lower side of the range\, before easing into the drive toward the Twin Rocks picnic site. From there\, we ascend Mount Chebuswa\, enjoy the views from the summit\, then descend and continue toward Dragon’s Teeth. \nFor the team\, there are route options depending on strength and energy: \n\n\nOne option is to hike up to Dragon’s Teeth and wrap up the day there by heading back to base. \n\n\nFor super strong hikers\, there’s an optional extension beyond Dragon’s Teeth.
