The trek begins at Sirimon Gate\, winding through montane forests and moorlands before arriving at Old Moses Camp. \nDay 2: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp (4\,200m) \nTrek through Mackinder’s Valley\, surrounded by unique mountain flora and breathtaking views of the peaks. Shipton Camp\, nestled at the base of towering peaks\, offers a perfect spot for acclimatization. \nDay 3: Shipton Camp – Point Lenana (4\,895m) – Old Moses Camp (3\,300m) \nSummit Point Lenana at sunrise\, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the African plains and nearby peaks. Descend to Old Moses\, for a well-earned rest and reflection on the day’s achievement. \nDay 4:  Old Moses Camp- Sirimon Gate- Nairobi \nWe shall wake up for an early breakfast and wrap up our Mt. Kenya adventure. DESCRIPTION:SAGANA GORGES\, KIAMBICHO FOREST HILL\, & JANGWANI FALLS HIKE.\nDate: Saturday\, 27th June\, 2026.\nMeeting point: International Life House.\nMeeting time: 5.30am\nDeparture time: 5:40am \nCharges:\nKenyan Citizens: Khs. 3\,500\nKenyan Residents: Ksh. 3\,800\nNon-Residents: Ksh. 4\,200 \nAbout the Trail:\nLocated in Kirinyaga county\, this is a beautiful trail with lots to offer. We shall start our hike at Therema Hotel and hike towards Kiambicho Forest through the famous Skeleton Bridge on river Sagana. From there\, we hike up Kiambicho Hill which is approximately 2 kms climb leading us to the top that has beautiful views of Muranga Town\, and its surroundings. We will descend to the Sagana Gorges located at the base of the hill which has a beautiful and picturesque rock formation. We shall then wind up our hike at Jangwani Waterfalls which is located at Jangwani Camp. The camp is beautiful\, and members who wish can have lunch here and a brief tour of the place. \nDifficulty Level : Moderate\nTrail Distance:15 kms.\nDuration of Hike: 5-6 hours \nHow to dress for this hike:\n– Tights/cargo pants or comfortable and fast dry hiking clothes\n– Warm jacket.\n– Comfortable hiking shoes\, preferably hiking boots or gym/sports shoes with good sole grip.\n– Hat/cap for sun protection \nWhat to carry:-\n– Water (3 liters)\n– Snacks/energy bars/your preferred trail food.\n– Rain gear/Poncho\n– Small hiking bag to carry luggage (25L-30L recommended)\n– Sunscreen (optional)\n– Face mask. \nTake note of the following key times:\nMeeting Time at International House: 5.30am bus leaves at exactly 5.40am.
