It stands at 3\,906m asl. On this adventure\, we will ascend and descend via Mutarakwa route. This hike has some of the best views of Mt Kenya\, Twelve Apostles\, and many other Aberdare peaks. It is also an ideal peak to train for Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro. \nDifficulty Level : Challenging (not beginner friendly).\nTrail Distance: 28kms.\nElevation gain: 1\,260m \nHow to dress for this hike:\n– Beanie/Warm Headgear\,Thermal top\, Warm Jacket\, Hiking Pants\, Hiking Bag.\n– Comfortable waterproof hiking shoes with a good grip. (Tip: always wear a size bigger or half bigger than your normal shoe size)\n-Hat/cap/ sunglasses for sun protection (optional)\n-Essential Extras: Gaiters\, Trekking Pole\, Light Gloves\, Head torch. \nWhat to carry:\n– Water (2 or 3 liters)\n– Snacks/energy bars/your preferred trail food.\n– Rain gear/Poncho/Rain Jacket (must-have)\n– Small hiking bag to carry luggage (30L recommended)\n– Sunscreen (optional)– Face mask.\n– Camera (optional) \nTake note of the following key times:\nMeeting Time at International House: 4.10am bus leaves at exactly 4.15am.
