About the Trail:
Mount Longonot is a dormant stratovolcano located in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. Its most distinctive feature is its perfectly circular crater with scenic views of Lake Naivasha and the Rift Valley. This mountain is a popular destination for hikers and trekkers, offering a variety of great challenges: up to the crater point, up to the summit, and round the crater rim.
Difficulty Level : Moderate.
Trail Distance: 12 kms.
Duration of Hike: 5-6 hours
What to wear:
– Tights/cargo pants or comfortable and fast dry hiking clothes
– Warm jacket.
– Comfortable hiking shoes, preferably hiking boots or gym/sports shoes with good sole grip.
– Hat/cap for sun protection
What to carry:
– Water (3 liters)
– Snacks/energy bars/your preferred trail food.
– Rain gear/Poncho
– Small hiking bag to carry luggage (25L-30L recommended)
– Sunscreen (optional)
– Face mask.

Meeting Time at International House: 5.30am bus leaves at exactly 5.40am. We are very strict on time. (T&C apply)
Finish Time: 3.30pm and back in Nairobi by 6:00pm
