Cha Muhimu Aberdare Range Traverse

About the Trail:

The Cha Muhimu Traverse is a 90KM hike across the Aberdare Range, moving from north to south. The journey begins at Twin Rocks and ends at Njabini Gate, taking you over some of the range’s most iconic peaks: Mount Satima, Table Mountain, Rurimeria Hill, Mount Kinangop, and Elephant Hill. These five peaks are the highlights of the Aberdares and make this traverse truly unforgettable.

– Distance: 90 km
– Hiking Duration: 4 days
– Elevation Gain: 3,300 m
– Elevation Loss: 4,000 m

Trip Itinerary: 
• Day 1: Twin Rocks – Mount Satima – Table Mountain (15km). Camp at Table Mountain.
• Day 2: Table Mountain to Chania Camp (30km).
• Day 3: Chania Camp to Mutubio Gate via Magura Falls (15km).
• Day 4: Mutubio Gate – Mount Kinangop – Elephant Hill – Njabini Gate (30km).

Payment Terms:

  • Reservation Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 40% of the total cost is required at the time of booking to secure your spot, and plan for logistics.
  • ⁠For full Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 10 days before the scheduled tour date.
