Mount Kenya – Point Lenana (4 days, 3 nights)

February 20 - February 23

Climb: Mt Kenya  (Ascent- Sirimon, Descent- Chogoria).

Dates: 20th – 23rd February, 2025.

Duration: 4 days, 3 nights.

Pick-up Point: Nairobi.

Charges:
Kenyan Citizens/EAC Residents: Ksh. 55,000
Non-Residents: $650

Climbing Schedule:

Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki – Old Moses Camp (3,300m)

Depart Nairobi early morning for Nanyuki, where we’ll make a quick stop to finalize preparations. The trek begins at Sirimon Gate, winding through montane forests and moorlands before arriving at Old Moses Camp.

Day 2: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp (4,200m)

Trek through Mackinder’s Valley, surrounded by unique mountain flora and breathtaking views of the peaks. Shipton Camp, nestled at the base of towering peaks, offers a perfect spot for acclimatization.

Day 3: Shipton Camp – Point Lenana (4,895m) – Lake Ellis (3,455m)

Summit Point Lenana at sunrise, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the African plains and nearby peaks. Descend to Lake Ellis, a serene alpine lake, for a well-earned rest and reflection on the day’s achievement.

Day 4: Lake Ellis – Chogoria Gate – Nairobi

Enjoy a relaxed hike down the picturesque Chogoria route, passing waterfalls and lush forests before concluding the trip and driving back to Nairobi.

COST INCLUDES:

  • Private transport from Nairobi and back.
  • Park entry and accommodation fees.
  • All Government taxes.
  • Guide, Porter’s support and Cook services.
  • 3 Meals a day while on the mountain and boiled water.
  • 3 nights accommodation in tents. 

COST EXCLUDES:

  • Hiring of mountain hiking gears like; Sleeping bags, Hiking boots, Hiking clothes etc.
  • Health and travel Insurance.
  • Personal snacks.
  • Tips for Guides, Cook and Porters
  • Anything else not listed above.

Payment Terms:

  • Reservation Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total cost is required at the time of booking to secure your spot, and plan for logistics.
  • ⁠For full Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full at least 10 days before the scheduled tour date.
  • ⁠Payment details will be shared upon trip confirmation.

Cancellations and Refunds:

– Cancellations made 4 days before the trip will receive a refund of the amount paid, minus the non-refundable deposit.

– No-Show Policy: No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
